Meet the Instructors

As we've stated before, know who is teaching the classes, and why they are certified!

BJJ Instructor Cody Skidmore
Cody started studying the art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu at the age of 12, and was training more serious by the age of 15. He received his blue belt from professor Amilicar cipli in 2006 and finally his purple belt in early 2010. With Codys instructor Aaron Hullinger moving to Phoenix Arizona, and Cody being the next highest belt, Cody was left to take over, as head instructor. Cody has competed all around the U.S. including places like California and Las Vegas, Illinois, Indiana, and more recently, Colorado, where he is currently the 210lb and 195lb Purple Belt Silver Champion; he also has competed in boxing, wresting, and mixed martial arts, giving him a wide range of experience. Cody has trained with ufc, wec, and world champion Brazilian jiu-jistu competitors. It does not take long to realize why his students talk so highly of his teaching, Which are very technical, detailed, and Cody personalises the moves for different body types and skill levels. Cody sets a training environment which encourages confidence, however, he will not tolerate arrogant attitudes, the students at the academy uphold this and are very helpful to newer students. Cody always says "you join a team, but you grow into a family." With well over a 1500 official hours of Brazilian jiu-jitsu training he is now the head bjj instructor at Action MMA.
